Our History
Rusty’s Weigh Scales & Service, Inc. was established in 1982 by SD “Rusty” Jones. Rusty grew up in the scale pit construction business and began as a teen working directly in the scale business. Rusty dedicated his entire life to the scale industry. He worked many years for a competitor who eventually moved him to Lubbock, Texas. Soon after, he set out to open Rusty’s Weigh Scales & Service, which quickly grew into the region’s largest scale company.
Rusty’s weigh manufactured many types of scales from weighing a gram to weighing freight trains over the years. In late 2003, Rusty’s Weigh decided to scale back “large industrial manufacturing” and developed a relationship with METTLER TOLEDO. This relationship has grown and allowed Rusty’s Weigh to be a top ten distributor in the US for the years following.
Headquartered in Lubbock, Texas, Rusty’s Weigh sells and services a customer base that extends across Texas, New Mexico and sometimes points beyond.
